Lovely Sisters Preview

This is where the "pom poms" portion of my blog name comes in. How beautiful are my friends?! We grew up right around the corner from each other, and ended up cheering next to each other as well! From busses and back packs, to pom poms and lipstick. These three needed a picture taken together for their mom as a Christmas gift. I feel so honored to be the one chosen to take their picture. You three are beautiful inside and out! Merry Christmas!!

Nashville Help-Portrait

This post is a little delayed, but I have been pretty busy this week. Last weekend I was blessed to be able to join together with photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists, and others to change people's lives. It was called help portrait.  Their website describes help-portrait as follows:

Founded by Celebrity Photographer Jeremy Cowart, Help-Portrait is a community of photographers coming together across the world to use their photography skills to give back to their local community.
In December, photographers around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need and taking their picture. When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered.
Yep. It really is that easy.
This is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits are not for your portfolio, website, or for sale. Money isn’t involved here. This holiday season, you have the chance to give a family something they may have never had before—a portrait together.
Our mission? Our mission at Help-Portrait is simply to equip and mobilize you, the photography community. We want to make sure you have all the information that you need to successful participate in Help-Portrait on 10 December 2011. We want to help you find other people in your area that are wanting to be part of Help-Portrait or have already begun to plan the event. We want you to have the opportunity to give.
The best place to connect with other photographers, download important documents, and read up on some useful Help-Portrait planning tips is our COMMUNITY SITE.
Just in case you haven’t seen it, here is our video explaining the idea of Help-Portrait.

One man, who had his photo taken at my station was looking at his photo on my computer screen. He began tearing up and telling us how wonderful this was and he previously had "thought about jumping off a bridge." His eyes told too many stories for me to interpret. In that moment, as I was attempting to hand an SD card back to the photographer, I found myself side-by-side to this man and directly across from Jeremy Cowart, and in tears. I slowly turned around and sat back down at my computer, unable to do any editing. This man found this simple thing, his photo, (something we all take for granted in our digital world of facebook and smartphones with cameras), so special and so moving that it would give him hope. This is the worth of a photo. That was help-portrait.

Follow the star.

I can't handle the cuteness.

Geocache

This weekend we went geocaching. We discovered that it is fully possible to hide a tube inside a rock. .
"How?" you ask? I can not discuss it at this time, due to it being something you must discover for yourself. Tori was great at rock-kicking, which is how we were able to discover our treasure.

If you are curious about our adventure, you can visit the official geocache website HERE.
